About the Research Project
Penn State University is performing a research project on Pet Scams. We are looking for study participants for this research project. This study is interested in the experiences of individuals who have been the victim of a pet scam. If you have been the victim of an online pet scam and would be willing to be interviewed about your experience or think you might be interested please complete the form below.
- Please note that interviews will take place via Zoom with participant cameras off (unless participant prefers their camera on).
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Interviews should take approximately 30 minutes to one hour and are confidential.
- Participants will have the opportunity to request the publication once the study is completed.
Important Notice: As we respect your information and realize that you have been a victim of the a scam, please note our policy. Your information filled out in this form powered by the Virtual Pet Hub technology will only transfer your information directly to Penn State University. The University will ask you if you wish to be anonymous prior to any discussion you participate in. We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your information confidential. We will not sell, rent, or lease your data to third party agencies, and we will not provide your personal information to any third party individual, government agency, or company at any time unless compelled to do so by law. We are here to learn from you in order to find solutions to combat these Scammers. You will have the right to request the research publication from Penn State once the research project has concluded.
